Matthew Garrett Matheson makes me sick...

and he ticks me off too!!

Last night I went to Wal-Mart and bought a Wii Fit. We each built our Mii (the little people that look like us), then he went out to work on something in the barn. I started "working out." When you start the program, it tells you your BMI and tests your balance. After a few tests, it gives you your Mii age...I was 47!! 20 years older than I really am. So I started going through the different programs that you can do. You can do Yoga, Aerobics, Balance games, and Strength training. I did Yoga, Balance games, and Strength training before Matt came back in. When he walked in, I was attempting to do jackknife sit-ups (I think that's what its called). Well I was grunting and straining. He said "I bet this doesn't last long." After each different exercise you do, its ranks the top 10. Well at this point I had #1 on everything. Then he says he wants to try it. So we get him started. His Mii age ends up being 37. Makes me feel a little better. Then he starts doing all of the exercises. HE TAKES OVER (almost) ALL THE #1 SPOTS. We were tied on a few of them, but I was not the lone #1er. I'm a bit competitive if you didn't know. He started doing Aerobics. The first thing is Hula Hoop. You just stand there and hula hoop without one, just moving your hips. After he did this one, he decided that he could quit for the night. Well I had to try the hula hoop. I KICKED HIS BUTT!! We'll see how long that lasts, but for now I have #1.

I decided to keep going, so I went back to the balance games. (The longer you exercise, you can open different programs.) I opened a balance game were you are in a bubble floating down the river, and you can't hit the bank or anything else. I tried this literally 8 time. I kept hitting the bank and drowning. So he says "Let me try." So he gets on and makes it all the way down the river the first time. Ok now you know how that sits with me. So I get back up and try it again. Then he starts telling me "slow and steady wins the race." I was trying to go slow. You don't even know how many times he told me that. I was ready to kick him in the knee. So I keep on trying. FINALLY I make it down the river. I did beat his time though! Take that "slow and steady" Matt!!

You can also set goals to meet. You can pick how many pounds/how much BMI you want to lose over a period of time. Matt wants to lose 1, yes 1, pound to meet his BMI in two weeks. His BMI was under 23 and he wanted it closer to 22. LOSER!! Me on the other hand...well I'm going to say that I want to lose 15 pounds in 3 months. We will see if this happens. I will keep you updated on my losses (weight) not my losses to Matt.

Oh one more thing. On the balance games. I ALWAYS run into stuff. I'm just walking and I run into the wall, or the door jam, or the desk...you get the picture. Well, on the game last night, it kept making comments on my balance, or lack of.

Thanks for reading all of this...if you made it this far. And there is an open invitation to anyone to come over and play. Or wants to have a good laugh!

I think I know where he may have inherited that competitive gene from, and I think I have it too. Can't wait to come over and try to take over a few #1's myself. :)
We used to run "races" in the back yard with Dad, and I still remember when Matt was able to beat me.
