Mattie came and stayed in Beeville with her grandparents the weekend before Christmas. Of course if Mattie (and/or her parents) are in town, we usually spent most of the weekend with them. Well Saturday morning I got off of work and went up to the Matheson's house and Mattie was sitting in her high chair. When I walked in she kinda said something. Then she said it again and Gramps asked her what she said again and she said SASA. Then she said it a few more times and we figured out that she was calling me SASA. Now if you weren't blessed with a name like Casandra, then you don't know how exciting it is to be given a name.
I knew when I was little that I was called SaSa, but I didn't know why. I asked my mom and she said that my little baby sister, Amber, couldn't say Casandra, so she called me SaSa. Then my dad and uncles picked up on it. Then she started calling me Tahandra. So obviously little ones connect Casandra to SaSa somehow! Anyways that was my excitement for the weekend!
Mattie also says Matt, but its kind of a short 'a' sound instead of a long one. Maybe kinda English accent sounding? I don't know how to describe it, but it is cute! But this post is about "SaSa" not uncle Matt!

Shall I teach her to say "Tahandra" too? :)
