Matthew Garrett Matheson makes me sick...

and he ticks me off too!!

Last night I went to Wal-Mart and bought a Wii Fit. We each built our Mii (the little people that look like us), then he went out to work on something in the barn. I started "working out." When you start the program, it tells you your BMI and tests your balance. After a few tests, it gives you your Mii age...I was 47!! 20 years older than I really am. So I started going through the different programs that you can do. You can do Yoga, Aerobics, Balance games, and Strength training. I did Yoga, Balance games, and Strength training before Matt came back in. When he walked in, I was attempting to do jackknife sit-ups (I think that's what its called). Well I was grunting and straining. He said "I bet this doesn't last long." After each different exercise you do, its ranks the top 10. Well at this point I had #1 on everything. Then he says he wants to try it. So we get him started. His Mii age ends up being 37. Makes me feel a little better. Then he starts doing all of the exercises. HE TAKES OVER (almost) ALL THE #1 SPOTS. We were tied on a few of them, but I was not the lone #1er. I'm a bit competitive if you didn't know. He started doing Aerobics. The first thing is Hula Hoop. You just stand there and hula hoop without one, just moving your hips. After he did this one, he decided that he could quit for the night. Well I had to try the hula hoop. I KICKED HIS BUTT!! We'll see how long that lasts, but for now I have #1.

I decided to keep going, so I went back to the balance games. (The longer you exercise, you can open different programs.) I opened a balance game were you are in a bubble floating down the river, and you can't hit the bank or anything else. I tried this literally 8 time. I kept hitting the bank and drowning. So he says "Let me try." So he gets on and makes it all the way down the river the first time. Ok now you know how that sits with me. So I get back up and try it again. Then he starts telling me "slow and steady wins the race." I was trying to go slow. You don't even know how many times he told me that. I was ready to kick him in the knee. So I keep on trying. FINALLY I make it down the river. I did beat his time though! Take that "slow and steady" Matt!!

You can also set goals to meet. You can pick how many pounds/how much BMI you want to lose over a period of time. Matt wants to lose 1, yes 1, pound to meet his BMI in two weeks. His BMI was under 23 and he wanted it closer to 22. LOSER!! Me on the other hand...well I'm going to say that I want to lose 15 pounds in 3 months. We will see if this happens. I will keep you updated on my losses (weight) not my losses to Matt.

Oh one more thing. On the balance games. I ALWAYS run into stuff. I'm just walking and I run into the wall, or the door jam, or the desk...you get the picture. Well, on the game last night, it kept making comments on my balance, or lack of.

Thanks for reading all of this...if you made it this far. And there is an open invitation to anyone to come over and play. Or wants to have a good laugh!

Confessions

Confession #1: I am not an early morning talker. This morning I was getting ready and Matt was trying to talk to me. The second to the last thing he said before he walked out the door was, "I hope your morning gets better and you get out of your bad mood." I stopped what I was doing. I wasn't in a bad mood. I just don't like talking while I'm getting ready. I guess I have had my own bathroom to get ready in for as long as I can remember, so I never realized that I didn't like to talk. I wasn't in a bad mood, I just don't care about solving the world's problems right after I get up.

Confession #2: I am/was a pack rat. This past week, I was at Mom and Dad's house cleaning out my closet. I found old shoe boxes that I kept stuff from high school in. In that box were stupid things like Taco Bell receipts. Don't ask me. Normal people keep things like concert ticket stubs...not me...I keep Taco Bell receipts. I am better (I hope). My house is too small to keep things like that. Matt's a pack rat too. We were cleaning his room and he kept an empty bullet case. (I think that's what its called) I think its still in his room at his parents house. I hope it stays there, or maybe Mrs. Matheson will accidentally throw it away (hint, hint!!)

Confession #3: I love kids. I do..all of them. I'm not sure about having one come out of my body...but I love the ones that come out of everyone else's body.

Confession #4: I love when kids that do bad things. When a little kid says a bad word...I think it is hilarious! Meredith's New Year's story about Mattie...cracks me up (don't be mad Meredith!). I love it...I really have to try not to laugh...but inside I am. I also think that there comes a point when a kid need to be spanked...but before this point...I laugh....A LOT!

That's enough confessing for today!

Weekend away in SA

The weekend after New Year's Matt and I decided to go to SA for a little weekend get away. We didn't really know where to go. I didn't really want to go to SA because I've done pretty much everything you can do in SA. Well Matt hadn't. He'd been to the Alamo, but he was much younger. I couldn't believe this, but he had never even been to a Spurs game. So I said ok...we can go to SA. (I am the great compromiser you know!) (is that even a word??) So I "took" off work on Friday...I still had to go in for a few hours...and we headed North to San Antonio. Well we hadn't seen Addison or Amber since Christmas, and since we were driving by their house, we stopped. Well the top picture shows what Addison was doing when we got there. Amber said she had a wet diaper and me, being the great Aunt that I am, decided she needed to be changed. Of course that woke her up. I couldn't believe it. The picture below is Addison sitting on Uncle Matt's lap. Isn't she cute? Don't you just want to squeeze her? We stayed there a while and then headed off to SA.

We arrived in SA and checked into our hotel. Then we walked down the hall and outside and had dinner at Morton's Steakhouse. I'm not going to lie...Mortons' tastes a whole lot better when Daddy is footing the bill! But it was very good. Morton's and the Menger Hotel were directly across from each other.

After dinner, we went for a walk around the hotel...Directly Across from the hotel was the Alamo. We also saw some of the Christmas trees around the Alamo Plaza area. We walked down to the Riverwalk also. My favorite time of the year to go to the Riverwalk is during Christmas...all the lights coming down the trees are so pretty. Then we went back and went to bed.

We ate lunch on Saturday at Rits'a on the Riverwalk. It was just Mexican food...nothing great...I wouldn't have to eat there again. After lunch we walked back to the hotel and got ready for a Spurs basketball game. I wasn't sure if I could take my camera with me, so I left it in the hotel. Big Mistake. Our seats were awesome. We were 16 rows from the floor and we were just to the left of the tunnel that the Spurs run out of. We got there early and Manu was signing autographs. I walked over and got two on our tickets, then a AT &T center employee walked over to me and told me that I was supposed to be wearing a bracelet. I said "Oops! Sorry!" and sat back down. We did buy a disposable camera at the game, I just haven't gotten then developed. At first the game was a blowout, but it came down to the very secon shot and the Spurs won. I just want to put it out there that I am still a Mavs fan, but I always enjoy a NBA game.

We ended our weekend with lunch at Papasitos and a trip to Bass Pro Shop. I figured Matt was a pretty good sport about going where I wanted to, that I could return the favor.

P.S Matt told me I was weird for taking most of these pictures!

13 Days and Counting!!

13 Days at sunset...deer season will finally be over!! Yes I am counting down! Yesterday we went to Bass Pro Shop and there was a sign that said "We interrupt this marriage for deer season." I should have bought it...I'm just going to keep smiling and act like I get it...13 more days...
